Quality Assurance:- Part of Quality Management focused on providing confidence that quality requirements will be fulfilled.

Quality Control:- Part of Quality Management focused on fulfilling quality requirements.

1. Definition:

Quality Assurance:- Quality Assurance is set of activities which ensures the process for good output of product.

Quality Control:- Quality Control is set of activities which ensure the quality of product either it is good or bad.

2. Focus on:

Quality Assurance:- Quality Assurance is focused on Prevention of defects. It’s a proactive approach that means it works before product developed.

Quality Control:- Quality Control is focused on Identification of defects. It is reactive approach that means it works finished product.

3.Goal:

Quality Assurance:- The Goal of Quality Assurance is to improve development and test processes so that defects will not generate when the product is being developed.

Quality Control:- The Goal of Quality Control is to develop checking method of product so that the defect do not pass to Customer.

4.How to achieve:

Quality Assurance:- Establish a good quality management system and the assessment of its adequacy.

Periodic conformance audits of the operations of the system.

Quality Control:- Finding & Eliminating causes of quality problems through tools & equipment so that Customers requirements are continually met.

6. Responsibility:

Quality Assurance:- All Team member (Supplier to Dispatch team) are responsible for developing the good product.

Quality Control:- Generally A specific team is responsible for testing the product for defects before deliver the Customer.

QA and QC working Together

QC detected a recurrent problem with the quality of the products. QC provides feedback to QA Person that there is a problem in the process or system that is causing product quality problems. QA determines the root cause of the problem and then brings changes to the process to ensure that there are no quality issue in future.
